Little Echo could not help but follow him and when he got into danger, Little Echo finally develops some courage to say its own words and thus, save Max. I recommend this picture book as a bedtime story, and as a gift for anyone young or old who reminds the reader of either or both characters! The friendship that develops between Little Echo and Max is very sweet and a great example for kids. We celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stories, traditions and living cultures; and we pay our respects to Elders past and present. Little Echo (represented in a illustration as a mouse) is a tiny and timid creature that lives in a large cave.His paintings have been exhibited in galleries around Europe and Asia, and he was selected for lllustrators' Exhibition at the Bologna Children's Book Fair in 2019. I added the tag of mental health issues since this book could help adults talk to young children about overcoming shyness, making friends in a new situation, or even being different from others (an echo rather than a material figure. that smells like strawberries and lime, and then they go to the monster’s house to meet his parents and play. In an episode that’s stronger on feelings than logic, an unhappy cave echo—embodied in the garish, heavily daubed illustrations as a yellow, rabbitlike creature with outsized ears—looks on longingly yet hides from the other animals who play together joyfully. I like the way Max and Little Echo accept each other and work together--as any good adventure team would.

When he gets into danger the little echo plucks up the courage to do something other than repeat the last things people say!I love the underground cross section that shows you the caves and tunnels, you see bats hanging upside down reading, bees enjoying a glass of something, and in my favourite cave, some fox-like creatures are sprawled on the floor doing some drawing!

This is also full of wonderfully expressive language to help build vocabularies and storytelling skills. In another corner of the meadow is Lion - who is also looking for an adventure, and for a pet of his own . Straightforward and charming, Little Echo will be especially loved by readers who know well the struggle to speak up. A very fun story with good illustrations that will capture a child's imagination and allow mom or day or grandparent to have a great time reading this book and imitating echoes. And as a parent of a very sensitive and imaginative child, I just know that we would not make it through the book without a tear.This is a picture book that personifies an echo in a cave, and eventually shows the echo with a friendly, slightly-rabbit type shape. Now that I have my very own copy, I’m so excited to be able to share my thoughts about it with the world. We can all remember times when we’ve wanted to join in but have been held back by shyness, and Rodin expertly captures that wonderful moment of feeling seen and embarking on an exciting journey with a new friend.
